Our Spoke and Hub network recycles lithium-ion batteries to recover critical battery materials.

Our ‘Generation 3’ Spokes in Arizona, Alabama and Germany utilize patented submerged shredding technology to directly process full EV battery packs without discharging or dismantling.

Li-Cycle’s planned Hub refining and recovery facilities are expected to produce critical battery materials, including battery-grade lithium carbonate.

Arizona Spoke

Our battery recycling facility in Gilbert, AZ, started operations in May 2022. This Spoke is the first to utilize Li-Cycle’s ‘Generation 3’ proprietary technology to directly process full EV battery packs.

Alabama Spoke

Our battery recycling facility in Tuscaloosa, AL, strengthened our North American recycling capacity, and started operations in October 2022. The Spoke can directly process full EV battery packs.

Germany Spoke

Our first battery recycling facility in Europe is strategically located in Germany’s Magdeburg region. It started operations in August 2023, and has the capability to directly process full EV battery packs.

Portovesme Hub

Li-Cycle and Glencore are collaborating to assess the technical and economic viability of a new Hub facility in Portovesme, Italy, including a concept and pre-feasibility study.
