OUR FACILITY

The Portovesme Hub is expected to be one of the largest producers of recycled battery-grade lithium carbonate in Europe.

Li-Cycle and Glencore are jointly studying the feasibility of, and later develop, a Hub refining and recovery facility in Portovesme, Italy.

The black mass processed at the Portovesme Hub is expected to be supplied from Li-Cycle’s European Spoke recycling network and Glencore’s commercial network.

The project plan includes repurposing part of the existing Glencore metallurgical complex in Portovesme, Italy.

A definitive feasibility study for the Portovesme Hub project is underway, with completion timing during 2024 currently under review. The Portovesme Hub would be a landmark project for Europe’s battery recycling industry. Subject to a positive investment decision, it is expected to be one of the largest sources of recycled battery-grade lithium, as well as recycled nickel and cobalt, on the European continent.
