OUR PROJECT

The Portovesme Hub is expected to be one of the largest producers of recycled battery-grade lithium carbonate in Europe.

Li-Cycle and Glencore previously announced plans to study the feasibility of, and later develop, a Hub refining and recovery facility in Portovesme, Italy. The project is currently paused and is under review.

The black mass processed at the Portovesme Hub is expected to be supplied from Li-Cycle’s European Spoke recycling network and Glencore’s commercial network.

The project plan includes repurposing part of the existing Glencore metallurgical complex in Portovesme, Italy.
