Li-Cycle’s 2020 Holiday Giving Back Campaign

Food banks across Canada and the U.S. saw a rapid surge in demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, even before the negative effects of the pandemic were felt, Li-Cycle recognized that food insecurity is not just a pandemic issue. Our 2020 Holiday Giving Back Campaign, which ran from December 2-16, aimed to give back – more than ever before – to those in need in the communities where we live and work.

From non-perishable food items to diapers and baby food, Li-Cycle employees were encouraged to purchase donations that they were comfortable contributing; head office matched every dollar spent with a monetary donation to the Daily Bread Food Bank in the Greater Toronto Area and Foodlink in New York State, where our different offices and facilites are located.

At Li-Cycle, we strive to positively impact both the planet and its people. This year, thanks to overwhelming team participation, we donated over 200 food items and diapers to an array of food banks across North America, in addition to making corporate donations. In choosing to operate in an ethical and sustainable way, Li-Cycle leaves the world a better place.
