Logistic Manager

Location: Mississauga, ON 

Job Summary

The Logistics Manager is responsible for handling the logistical coordination for inbound and outbound shipments from Li-Cycle’s facilities. This includes the management of all aspects regarding packaging, transportation, and maintaining inventory management system. The Logistics Manager shall also create and maintain all associated documentation in adherence to legislation and organizational policies and procedures. In some circumstances, the Logistics Manager may be responsible for the safety requirements of the organization’s facilities and assets, pertaining to storage of dangerous goods (i.e. lithium-ion batteries) and other hazardous materials.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with business development team on managing inbound shipments of lithium-ion batteries from Canada and US, including transborder shipments
  • Work closely with business development team on managing outbound shipments of scrap materials from Canada and US to local and international locations
  • Develop and direct logistic processes and establish ongoing improvement plans for freight management and warehousing.
  • Negotiate with and manage contracts and service level agreements for third party suppliers and/or service providers.
  • Manage courier/carrier implementations and establish service level agreements to ensure services are delivered as promised.
  • Provide administration for the warehousing system and regularly review performance expectations with leadership team.
  • Communicate the organizations safety policies in accordance with applicable safety standards and laws.
Job Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5-7 years of direct work experience in a logistics and/or transport function, or supply chain management.
  • Demonstrable experience in operations, warehouse management, inventory control, and transportation management.
  • Knowledge of transborder shipping and associated permitting requirements.
  • Knowledge of transport of dangerous goods regulations in Canada and US.
  • Experience in managing third-party logistics providers.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
